Meet Our Lucky Spring Honeymoon Giveaway Winners Mary and Eric

Congratulations to our lucky Spring Honeymoon Giveaway winner Mary and her fiancee Eric! The lucky couple now have the choice of 9 luxurious honeymoon resorts to chose from, but according to Mary the The Reef Playacar Beach Resort & Spa in the Riviera Maya, Mexico is the front runner.

Mary and Eric have a wedding date set for September 29, 2012. The big day will cap off a mature relationship – they’ve been a couple for 8 years! Mary and Eric first met at work where Eric was doing construction and Mary was doing some clean up work. She had her eye on him for some time, but finally got frustrated. After offering to pick up a coffee for Eric, she borrowed a Sharpie from the barrista and wrote her phone number on the lid of the cup. “I decided to give a little push!” says Mary, with a laugh. “He called me that night and we had our first date a few days later.”

Eric proposed to Mary on December 26, 2010. The couple share an enjoyment of outdoor activities in their Pacific Northwest home and Mary gave Eric a hiking backpack as a Christmas gift. It was only natural then, that Eric asked her to go for a hike the day after. “We hiked up the mountain and while we were looking down at the valley, he proposed,” says Mary. “I ended up tripping when we were walking down because I was still shaking… or because I was distracted by looking at my ring!”

Mary decided to definitely not be a bridezille. The couple opted for a longer than usual engagement to accommodate the daily stresses of life, work, and school, but wedding planning is now in high gear. With the big day quickly approaching, the venue is booked, the invites are going out soon, and – of course – the dress is already purchased. “The dress was the second thing, after the venue,” says Mary. “I actually found it at the first store I went to with my mom, but I thought I should keep looking. But I was comparing every other dress to that one.”

It just goes to show that the same is true of wedding dresses as of true love – you know it when you find it! We wish Mary and Eric all the best in their future together and hope that their WedAlert Honeymoon is an awesome start!
